Fleet Desk publishes free reference material for fleet managers at municipalities and small businesses — the guides, calculators and reference data we could not find in one place when we needed them.

How this is funded

This site is published with support from Axion, which sells fleet management software. That is a real conflict of interest and the honest thing to do is name it at the top rather than bury it.

Here is how we handle it:

• Guides are written to be useful on their own — including to fleets running a spreadsheet, a competitor's product, or nothing at all.
• The sponsor appears in the footer, and in one panel at the end of workflow guides that says where the manual approach stops scaling. It does not appear mid-article.
• Calculators are not gated. There is no email wall, no sign-up, and nothing you type is transmitted or stored.
• Where we eventually compare software, the sponsor will be listed on the same terms as everyone else, with the disclosure repeated on the page.

If a page reads like an advertisement, that is a defect. Tell us and we will fix it.

Sourcing

Every guide lists its sources, and sources are marked Primary when they are regulators, standards bodies, or government publications — the Code of Federal Regulations, FMCSA, EPA, GFOA, APWA, published agency rate schedules.

A great deal of what circulates as fleet benchmarking comes from vendor blogs that do not publish their sample size or methodology. Where we cite that material we label it, and where a widely quoted figure does not hold up we say so on the page rather than repeating it.

Regulatory summaries are provided for orientation and are not legal advice. Confirm against the cited regulation and your state or provincial agency before acting.

Corrections

Fleet managers catch errors, and we would rather hear about them. Every guide carries the date it was last substantively reviewed. Pages covering regulations are re-verified on a schedule; if a page looks stale relative to a rule change you know about, it probably is.

Write to info@axionfleetai.com. Point at the page and the claim, and cite the source you think is right — that is the fastest way to get something changed.

To be plain about it: that address is on the sponsor's domain, because this site does not have its own yet. Mail goes to the people who write these pages, not to a sales team, and a correction is acted on regardless of who it embarrasses. It will move to an address on this site's own domain once there is one.
